Where this came from
We started recruiting in the San Francisco Bay Area in 2012, working closely with architecture, engineering, and construction firms.
Over time, we kept seeing the same issues:
- Recruiting felt transactional
- Candidates were treated like placements, not long-term hires
- Firms were forced into high fees or inefficient internal solutions
The traditional model didn’t align with how hiring actually works in these firms.
The turning point
Before building this model, we focused on helping firms run their own recruiting process.
In practice, those conversations all ended the same way:
“That’s a lot of work — can you just handle it for us?”
That’s where this model came from.
